Blue Green Tourmaline Ring, 925 Sterling Silver.
Blue is the rarest colour in Tourmaline and goes by the name of Indicolite. The exception to this is gem quality Blue Tourmaline which was discovered in Paraiba, Brazil in 1987. That has become one of the most expensive Gemstones in the World, but every now and then we get a piece like this which is affordable.
This oval cabochon has pretty good transparency but with inclusions and a patch of clear Tourmaline at one end. The colour is definately blue although a slightly greener shade.
The stone is held securely in a strong Bezel Setting with open back which allows light to flow through the stone.
The simple elegance and quality of the setting suits this precious gemstone.
Tourmalines are amongst the most powerful of gemstones in terms of their energy. They can flush out energy blocks and empower the bearer whilst supplying the stamina necessary to achieve long term goals. This blue green shade is unusually cool especially under pressure. To me it's a silent focus of pure spirit, more concerned with mental clarity and problem solving through insight or intuition rather than physical action.
