This lovely Necklace of Charoite Beads was made in our own Fair Trade workshop overseas. We choose the beads ourselves. This is I think is the longest necklace we've ever made ~ the main photo shows it doubled over the neck with room to spare.
The Beads are Faceted and strung on strong purple cord which has been knotted between each bead.
Charoite is generally understood to be named after the nearby Chara River, but the Russian word Chary (чары) means charms or magic which I think is much more suitable. There is a certain Magic in this stone, perhaps because it is spiritually awakening.
It also gives courage when faced with the unknown.
I often wear Charoite when I'm feeling emotionally stressed and fatigued, ready to give up, because it always gives me a spirit power boost.
